 |
The Exeter Urban Wildlife Group was set up by Exeter City council as part of local Agenda 21. The broad aims of the group are to encourage a greater interest and awareness of Exeter’s wildlife and natural environment, to protect the city’s diverse habitats and to promote a wider enjoyment of our green spaces.
The Exeter Urban Wildlife Group is involved in a number of activities:
* Encouraging wildlife friendly management of churchyards as green spaces within the city
* Encouraging the enhancement of wildlife potential in Exeter’s countryside
* Providing comments on environmentally-sensitive planning applications that threaten important sites within the city boundaries
* Conducting a survey of birds seen in Exeter
* Studying some of the ancient hedgerows of Exeter
The Exeter Urban Wildlife Group is a voluntary group made up of people that are interested in Exeter’s wildlife and natural environments. As a community working group it represents the community’s interests in the city’s spaces. As such, the Exeter Urban Wildlife Group would like to hear your comments and ideas about Exeter’s wildlife and green spaces.
For further information on the groups activities and how you can get involved, please contact the members on the contact page
